This year, the Order of the Arrow has yet again run an outstanding National Leadership Seminar (NLS) program. These weekend-long seminars are more than just workshops; they are insightful leadership training experiences designed for those ready to aid their local lodges and step into the role of the next leaders and advisers of the OA. The main focus is to provide youth and adult participants with practical skills and knowledge that they can bring back to their lodges, therefore strengthening the overall OA community.
Each Arrowman follows a unique path. Some may lead committees while others might become chapter and lodge officers, but all Arrowmen who get involved will make meaningful contributions in a way that is unique to them. However, all Arrowmen must make that first decision to begin showing up and helping. From serving as an elangomat to even simply attending that next lodge event, it is crucial to stay involved in the opportunities the Order of the Arrow has to offer, as this will enable personal and lodge growth.
In the Garden State Council, Lenape Lodge has introduced a new tradition: annual holiday fellowship celebrations. Rooted in the OA’s principles of brotherhood, cheerfulness, and service, Lenape Lodge has embraced the holiday season as an opportunity to strengthen connections among Arrowmen and their families.
As Scouting continues to navigate through times of growth and transformation, the National Order of the Arrow Committee is launching the 1915 Society Endowment Program to continue its mission of promoting leadership, service, and brotherhood among Scouts for years to come.
