Q. Dear Ray,

I was wondering about something our lodge adviser had said recently about the lodge flap guidelines. He stated that only one lodge flap is authorized for wear at any given time. I was under the impression once a patch was authorized for wear on a Scouting uniform, it was authorized from that point on, no matter if a new design is rendered or not. I would like to find the documentation for my own clarification on this issue. Thank you for your time.

Yours In brotherhood,

Joseph

A. Joseph,

Thank you for your question. It is certainly not national, regional or sectional policy that a new issue of a new lodge flap renders the previous ones to be out of compliance with the insignia guidelines.

Hope this helps.

Ray
