Q: Ray,
Can the region chiefs be considered as candidates for national chief or national vice chief after their term as region chief has concluded?
A: Page 9 of the Field Operations Guide states the following regarding the election of national officers:
“In late December each year, the section chiefs from across the nation gather to participate in planning the program of emphasis for the next calendar year. As their first order of business, the section chiefs elect a national chief, national vice chief, and four region chiefs.
To be eligible to hold a national office as national chief, national vice chief or region chief, a section chief must be younger than 21 during his entire term of office. In addition no person who has ever held one of these national offices can ever again be eligible to hold any national OA office.”
