Farewell From Your 2025 National Officers Article Header

Arrowmen,

As we conclude our year of service to the Order of the Arrow, we find ourselves reflecting on what has been an extraordinary journey. The year 2024 was filled with innovation, growth, and moments of profound connection for the Order of the Arrow, all driven by your incredible passion and dedication. It has been our honor to lead this organization and serve alongside each of you as we journeyed to Seek New Heights together.

This year, the Order of the Arrow broke new ground in many ways:

  • The 35th National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) brought together over 6,240 onsite attendees and 707 remote delegates in Boulder, Colorado. The energy, camaraderie, and spirit shared there will remain a highlight of our term.
  • For the first time in years, the National Leadership Seminar (NLS) reached new international locations, including Tokyo, Japan and San Sebastián, Puerto Rico, reigniting the global reach of our Brotherhood.
  • We approved and launched a new Mission, Vision, and Purpose for the OA, modernizing our organization’s guiding principles and setting the foundation for decades of impactful servant leadership.
  • In a historic vote, lodge chiefs selected a nationwide service project for 2028, showcasing the power of youth-led decision-making to shape our future.

Throughout the year, we also witnessed the transformative impact of our OA High Adventure programs, the inspiring leadership development of NLS and DYLC, and the vibrant ideas shared at section conclaves across the nation. We traveled over 350,000 miles collectively, met thousands of Arrowmen, and brought their ideas to the national committee, all whose stories continue to inspire us.

These successes would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of our advisors, staff members, and, most importantly, you—the Arrowmen who embody cheerful service every day. Whether you were part of your NOAC contingent, stepped up to serve as a leader on the lodge or section level, or simply supported your lodge’s newest members, your passion made 2024 unforgettable.

As we hand over the reins to the 2025 national officers, we are filled with optimism for the OA's future. The torch of leadership now passes to these remarkable individuals, who will build on this year’s momentum and lead us into the next chapter of the OA’s story. Their vision and passion will surely inspire us all to continue forging lifelong bonds, reinforcing our purpose, and leading with cheerful service.

We have been honored with the privilege to serve you this past year and for making this year a milestone in the history of the Order of the Arrow. Let’s welcome 2025 with enthusiasm, ready to support Sam, Ben, Haley, and Elijah and embrace the opportunities ahead.

Farewell,

John Andrew Segebarth | 2024 National Vice Chief

Jake Whitley | 2024 Gateway Region Chief
