In December of 2021, Derek Porter and Greg Brown finished their successful terms as national chief and vice chief, respectively. Mike Hoffman finished his term as OA National Committee Chair. Mike Hoffman was succeeded by Dr. Chris Grove of Central Florida Council as the National Committee Chair.
Building on the success of the three virtual Momentum events over the past two years, 2021’s program of emphasis was the National Council of Chiefs, held in the beautiful Sangre de Christo mountains of New Mexico at Philmont Scout Ranch. There, local leaders from across the nation convened and spent a week sharpening their leadership skills and laying the groundwork for the OA’s future success.
Also last year, OA High Adventure (OAHA) celebrated its 25th Anniversary! Over 3,500 Arrowmen have participated in the 5 OAHA programs, accomplishing over 140,000 hours of service at all four BSA high adventure bases.
Finally, 53 outstanding Arrowmen were recognized with the Distinguished Service Award for their service to the Order. Here’s to a great 2022!
