Lodge and Section Key 3 Leaders:

For those of you who attended the 2021 National Council of Chiefs meeting at Philmont, it was great getting to meet you, and we couldn't be prouder of our organization moving forward. For those of you who did not have the opportunity to attend the NCOC, we have some important details that we would like to share with you about the future for the Order of the Arrow.

Earlier this year, the National Order of the Arrow Committee established the Project Magellan task force to assess the OA’s structure as the BSA completes its own restructuring and provide recommendations for change as needed. With this mandate, the Project Magellan task force went to work--assessing a variety of different factors at play across Scouting--and developed a prototype for a potential OA structure that was presented at the NCOC.

One of the most critical components when developing this prototype was the lodge and how our organization should support lodges. Because of this, lodge and section leaders who attended the NCOC were able to provide feedback on this prototype and contribute insight on how the national organization can better support lodges.

We would like to invite this feedback from all lodge and section leaders, specifically those who did not attend the NCOC. Your feedback is needed to ensure we are building the most effective Order of the Arrow than ever before. This is why we would like to invite you to attend one of the National OA Webinars happening on August 25th and August 26th to see this prototype first hand, have any questions you might have about it answered, and then provide feedback on improving this prototype. Those who attended the NCOC are welcome to participate; however, the presentation and prototype will mirror what you observed during our time together at Philmont.
