The stories shared, friendships formed and the adventures experienced have endlessly bound OA members and alumni tightly as its circle has widened.
Mike Gray is an Eagle Scout from W. D. Boyce Council and Wenasa Quenhotan Lodge. He holds a B.S. in organizational communications from Bradley University and works as an IT services engineer for Loffler Companies. He has served as lodge chief, section chief and Central Region chief in the OA, and is currently supporting his home Scout camp, Ingersoll Scout Reservation, this summer as its camp director.
Dan Segersin is from Northern Star Council and Totanhan Nakaha Lodge. He holds a B.S. in accounting and business management from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, and a graduate degree from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management. After a remarkable, several decades career with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Dan retired as a senior vice president. He has served as Scoutmaster and the OA Central Region chair.
In fall 2012, Mike and Dan met at a National Leadership Seminar course. A few months later, their paths crossed again as they commenced a year-long journey together as the youth and adult duo leading the OA in the Central Region. Recently, they convened virtually in the midst of a tornado warning to reminisce on their decade-long friendship, elated to share memories and discuss both the future of Scouting and how the OA and their relationship has impacted their personal and professional lives. While the weather attempted to force a power outage and rescheduling, their conversation fueled an exuberant evening.
The OA Alliance welcomes its members to Mike and Dan’s chat with the hope that it rekindles the spark of timeless OA memories, too.
