The national Order of the Arrow training subcommittee has just released a new session about OA 100th anniversary programs and events. Designed specifically for sections to use at their 2014 Conclaves, this session was created as part of the Order's Conclave Training Initiative (CTI) in accordance with the 2003- 2007 OA Strategic Plan. Each year, the subcommittee releases a new training session which is designed to help augment sections' Conclave training. Since Conclave is the largest cumulative training venue in the Order of the Arrow, the CTI aims to help support sections in delivering important information to their membership.
This pilot session, titled "Centuries of Service," has been created to help promote and encourage participation in the many programs that will be offered in 2015. From NOAC updates to ArrowTour information, "Centuries of Service" covers the spread of centennial topics. Details on special recognition opportunities for lodges are also included. In addition, the syllabus will focus on the lodge legacy project and encourage lodges to become more involved with writing their lodge history in 2014 and submitting remaining lid designs from 2013 and rocks from 2012.
"Centuries of Service" will be continuously updated throughout the year; trainers charged with delivering this session should become extremely familiar with the many programs and events for the Order's centennial. As the year continues, additional resources will be added including a centennial branded PowerPoint.
The training subcommittee would like to thank Preston Marquis, Sean McCabe, Chris Zantek, Hunter Jones, John Rehm, Robert Mason, and Kyle Brendel for all of their hard work.
National Vice Chief Taylor Bobrow echoes their thanks. "This CTI session serves as an outstanding opportunity to bring our centennial celebration to a very large group of Arrowmen and let them share in the excitement of our Order's celebration of 100 years of cheerful service."
