Q/A: Dissolution of a Lodge

Q: What is the policy, if any, for disbanding and reforming a lodge that has become so unmanageable that no one wishes to participate in any lodge functions or activities? Can this be done by the Council Executive?

A: "The Scout executive has the right to dissolve a lodge if they so wish. They have that authority as the Supreme Chief of the Fire. This action has been taken several times since I have been director. All of the lodges were later reinstated."
- Clyde Mayer, former OA Director

You may wish to have your Scout Executive contact the current OA Director at the national office to discuss this issue.
