Does your lodge struggle with attendance at lodge leadership development courses? Maybe it’s not the content or the trainers but the format. Echeconnee lodge takes having fun seriously at its LLD. Each year, the new lodge executive committee spends a weekend at a cabin owned by a lodge adviser. The LLD commences with sessions on Saturday the morning. In mid-morning, the LEC steps outside to shoot shotguns and play games such as “Manhunt.” The sessions resume for the remainder of the morning and afternoon, at which point board games and movies make an appearance. After a great breakfast the next morning, LLD sessions resume, to top of a great LLD weekend. This retreat-style LLD offers a great change from the traditional meeting-room format.
