The National Communications Committee is seeking driven individuals to help develop, update, and maintain the national OA website. This individual will help maintain integrations with current systems, develop new features, troubleshoot issues, and update systems as necessary. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in a range of web technologies. Web technical developers will work closely with web content managers to provide additional technical support to other subcommittees, to troubleshoot flagged issues, and to gather requests for future development of new features. The commitment for this role is approximately 2 hours per week; commitment may be more or less involved depending on the current tasks that week. Team collaboration takes place asynchronously using Slack and Asana work environments; regularly scheduled monthly team meetings occur along with video conferences as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members to plan, execute, troubleshoot, and deploy new features and updates to existing components.
Ensure regular maintenance of web systems. - Communicate with stakeholders to fix flagged issues, provide additional support to the web content team, and solicit feedback for future feature development.
- Ensure adherence to security protocols and best practices in all development.
- Attend monthly team collaborative meetings to ensure alignment with team initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Experience in web development, with proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Python, Bash, LAMP, Git/GitHub, Drupal, and Azure.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to work asynchronously and independently as well as manage multiple priorities.
