Management
The National Order of the Arrow Committee oversees the annual program budget. As the Endowment Funds grow, it is the role of the Endowment Fund to begin to offer grants to projects and programs that the national OA committee deems appropriate. The national OA committee has entrusted the investment management of these to the BSA Foundation. This is a very low-cost option which allows for significant savings in management and trust fees, while having professional management of the funds.
Funds are safeguarded and protected and can only be dispersed after an approved request from the National Order of the Arrow Chairman and the agreement of a group of national OA committee members who form the Endowment Oversight Committee and the National OA Director.
Growth & Value
The National OA Endowment has seen its value increase significantly through new outright and estate gifts, as well as positive change in market value.
Support
Through the years the National OA Endowment has supported key OA programs with direct funding, including over $1 million in support of local councils through lodge service grants.
