Jamboree vice chiefs (JVCs), “Green Bar Bill” Hillcourt Scholarship recipients, section chiefs and National Order of the Arrow Committee members gathered for a special afternoon of recognition and celebration. The National Leadership Gathering was hosted by 2017 National Chief Forrest Gertin and coordinated by the Operation Arrow Program Committee. He reflected, “I’m very proud of the accomplishments of our Operation Arrow staff. These Arrowmen truly embody the principles and mission of our organization -- inspiring others to live a life dedicated to cheerful service.”

Many key adult volunteers were also thanked for their hours of service, including Don McChesney, Assistant Chief Scout Executive; Matt Dukeman, National OA Director; Travis Rubelee, Associate OA Director; Mike Hoffman, National OA Chairman; and Ray Capp, Immediate Past National OA Chairman.

Twenty Operation Arrow staff members received the “Green Bar Bill” Hillcourt Scholarship in 2017. They were recognized at this event by Nelson Block, a representative from the “Green Bar Bill” Hillcourt Foundation, with a unique staff hat to wear proudly.

The national chief, alongside National Vice Chief Talon Parker, recognized each region chief and jamboree vice chief for their extraordinary efforts in organizing the largest OA service event in jamboree history. Each region chief and JVC was presented with a unique gift to thank them for their servant leadership.
