Brothers,
Welcome to Operation Arrow! By joining us this summer at the Summit Bechtel Reserve (SBR), you will be taking part in a historic moment. Never in our 57 year long tradition of providing service to national jamborees have we attempted an initiative as large as this one. We could not be more pleased to lead the OA’s largest service initiative at a national jamboree, and we are especially grateful for your commitment.
We, the Operation Arrow leadership, are committed to ensuring that you have the best experience possible. From giving you time to experience the activities SBR can offer, to providing meaningful service opportunities, we plan to make every aspect of Operation Arrow a positive one. All that we ask is that you deliver on our obligation to be the example of selfless devotion to the welfare of others. After all, you are a key part of almost every aspect of the jamboree.
Our presence at the jamboree would not be possible without the unflagging commitment of each and every one of you. Your devotion to cheerful service will make certain that all jamboree participants look to the OA as true servant leaders. Your experience will also be enhanced by meeting the other members of your chapter and staff group. Be sure to make friends, and enjoy the brotherhood that you can only find with other Arrowmen. The next two weeks will fly by, so be sure to make every moment count!
In 2017, we have challenged ourselves to deliver on our promise to serve Scouting. With the largest ever initiative at the national jamboree, we have a great opportunity before us to do just that. Through our three main staff groups, Service Corps, Indian Village and Trek Guides, as well as our auxiliary staff members, the OA will continue to deliver its mission and purpose well into its second century. We can’t wait to work with you as we #FuelScoutingsAdventure together!
Yours in cheerful service,
