Introducing the OA Communications Award

The OA National Communications Committee is announcing today that it is creating a new award, the OA Communications Award, to recognize chapters, lodges and sections that best demonstrate their communication efforts. The OA Communications Award honors the dedication of communication between Arrowmen, shares successful practices from local OA programs, and recognizes Arrowman in communication roles. All chapters, lodges, and sections are invited to apply.

The OA Communications Award offers recognition in four areas — social media, newsletter, website, branding — and the William Stumpp Award.

The Social Media Award recognizes those who have a well-built presence on social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. The Newsletter Award is to show off the best chapters, lodges, and sections that excel in email updates to Arrowmen and sharing the stories of their members and events. The Website Award is awarded to a lodge that has a proficient and well-designed website. The Branding Award recognizes achievement in utilizing a chapter, lodge, or section brand. The highest recognition is the William Stumpp Award, which will be presented to chapters, lodges, and sections that are outstanding across all categories.

The National Communications Committee will recognize award recipients at the National Order of the Arrow Conference this summer. Any youth or adult who holds a communications-based role (e.g., secretary, vice chief of communications, social media chair) or is a member of the Key 3 is allowed to submit a nomination for their chapter, lodge, or section. Please submit your nominations for the OA Communications Award by June 15 at the following link: forms.gle/dQ3NEtRqwjaHvvLdA.
