At first glance, it appears that Operation Arrow is comprised entirely of youth members in the Service Corps, Trek Guides, Indian Village and unified headquarters team. However, adult Operation Arrow staff members also provide remarkable service and have a significant presence at jamboree.
The Aerial Sports Team provides supplementary staff to areas such as the Big Zip, Challenge Course and Canopy Tours. These volunteers are essential to the operation of these adventure program areas so that participants may take advantage of these popular activities.
Adult Arrowmen also play an essential role in the health and safety operations of the jamboree. Adult Operation Arrow staffers make up the entirety of the Medical Transport Corps. These staff members facilitate non-emergency transportation for jamboree participants with any type of injury or disability that hinders their mobility.
Furthermore, there are adults serving as advisers for the main Operation Arrow program areas and on the management and leadership teams to support youth leads in executing the programs. Though the Order of the Arrow is youth led, the capable adults are essential to making such an incredible program available. Their service to the jamboree is a testament to the power of the OA’s commitment to fuel Scouting’s adventure.
